The project will equip women with practical tools to work in crisis situations. This will allow reducing the risk of critical situations (domestic violence and violence in general, observed in most families of military personnel and soldiers who participated in military operations in Afghanistan in the late 1980s) in families and in the society as a whole. Based on the activities, there is a real opportunity to build on a systematic professional work of practical psychologists, psychotherapists to deliver any sort of assistance, and most importantly to prevent complex psychological conditions suffered by women in families of ATO participants.

The project is expected to conduct an information campaign to draw attention to the issue of violence against women in families of ATO participants, data collection and analysis of the situation of violence against women in the families of ATO participants, and to engage jointly with experts and the public authorities in the development of the regional rehabilitation program for families of ATO participants aimed at preventing violence against women in the Luhansk oblast

The project involves the establishment of a rehabilitation center for women from families of ATO participants by providing them and families of ATO participants with psychological, home care, rehabilitation, sports activities, and special individual training sessions aimed to prevent violence and provide emotional and psychological support. It also seeks to provide temporary shelter to women from families of ATO participants who fell victims to domestic violence. The federation has the required facilities in place (sports recreation area, gym, facilities for training and activities, premises to shelter women) and it offers skilled internationally recognized master trainers.

The project titled "A war which does not let go: The campaign to end violence against women of ATO participants" seeks to voice the issue of violence against women in the national media, in particular, in women's magazines or the media attracting predominantly female audience. Also, one of the women's magazines will feature a series of photos and present the accounts of women who silence the violence committed against them, and most importantly - where to seek an assistance. At the end of the campaign, a press conference will be organized and attended by representatives of women's organizations, psychologists, lawyers, public authorities and others.
